Position Summary

Austin Health is the major provider of tertiary health services, health professional education and research across 3 campuses in the northeast of Melbourne and state-wide. Austin Health is world-renowned for its research and specialist work in cancer, liver transplantation, spinal cord injuries, neurology, endocrinology, mental health and rehabilitation.

Austin Health's Mental Health Division incorporates a number of specialities and services across community and bed-based services, with inpatient beds located on all three campuses.  The Division provides catchment-based area mental health services, in addition to a number of regional and statewide specialty services.

HOPE - PEER WORKER CARER SUPPORT

An exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and experienced Peer Support Worker to join our Hospital Outreach Post-suicidal Engagement (HOPE) initiative on a permanent, part time basis.

The successful applicant will have lived experience as a person who has been a carer or family member of someone who has accessed public mental health services. The role provides peer support to consumer families and carers, following engagement with the HOPE initiative, using personal lived experience to provide a model of hope and recovery, including direct and over the phone support.
