Position Summary

Austin Health is the major provider of tertiary health services, health professional education and research across 3 campuses in the northeast of Melbourne and state-wide. Austin Health is world-renowned for its research and specialist work in cancer, liver transplantation, spinal cord injuries, neurology, endocrinology, mental health and rehabilitation.

 

An exciting opportunity currently exists for a enthusiastic and experienced Application and Integration Developer to join our Application and Integration Service Group, on a 12 month fixed term contract. As a member of the team, the roles responsibilities include:

  • Implementation, documentation and support for integration and application development.
  • Contribute to designing integration of applications in accordance with Austin Health ICT and HL7 standards complying with the HTS Unified HL7 specification using Oracle JCAPS and Rhapsody products.
  • Provide effective troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to learn and adapt to new software applications as they are introduced to the department.

To be successful in this role you must have:

  • Demonstrated experience in using a software development methodology and tools in delivering application and integration functionality that meets user requirements.
  • Knowledge of relational database design and analysis.
  • Experience working with and developing queries using SQL (or equivalent languages).
  • Programming experience in Java, JavaScript, HTML and Web Services technology.
  • Write high quality source code to support application components and the development of applications.
  • High level of written and verbal communication skills is required that provides information to various people (technical and non-technical) in a purposeful, constructive and impartial manner.
  • Ability to work as a member of a team (team player) with limited supervision and in a team environment of high work volume and conflicting priorities.
