Austin Health is world-renowned for its research and specialist work in cancer, liver transplantation, spinal cord injuries, neurology, endocrinology, mental health and rehabilitation.

An exciting opportunity currently exists for an enthusiastic and highly experienced Registered Nurse to join our Radiation Oncology Department, part of the Ballarat Regional Integrated Cancer Centre (BRICC)

Austin Health operates two radiation oncology centres in Victoria. The metro hub based at the Olivia Newton-John Cancer, Wellness & Research Centre (ONJ Centre) in Heidelberg and the Ballarat Austin Radiation Oncology Centre (BAROC) including SAROS a superficial radiation service at Stawell Regional Health. All centres provide multi-disciplinary care, a variety of nursing and allied health services, innovative and progressive approaches to treatment underpinned by the guiding principle of patient centred care and wellness for all patients and their families.

The service has and MR Linac, 5 standard Linacs, MR Sim,  2 CT Simulators and a Nucletron HDR after loader brachytherapy. The service is fully developed in IMRT and IGRT and multimodality imaging. The service is committed to expanding its capability and developing future technological modalities, in combination with research.

Reporting to the NUM the ANUM will have a exciting opportunity to contirute to building and developing the team within this speciality.  Providing leadership and expertise the ANUM will support the NUM particularly during their  off- duty periods.

To be successful in this job you must demonstrate/ key responsibilities will include:

 

  • Registered Nurse with APHRA
  • Minimum five years of Oncology experience
  • Demonstrated experience as a clinical leader, including evidence of ongoing professional development and active involvement in quality improvement
  • Excellent organisation, time- management skills and attention to detail
