Position Summary

Austin Health is the major provider of tertiary health services, health professional education and research across 3 campuses in the northeast of Melbourne and state-wide. Austin Health is world-renowned for its research and specialist work in cancer, liver transplantation, spinal cord injuries, neurology, endocrinology, mental health and rehabilitation.

An exciting opportunity currently exists for an enthusiastic and highly experienced Registered Nurse DV 1 Grade 2 to join our Ward 6 South.

Ward 6 South is 32 bed acute oncology & urology ward based within the Olivia Newton- John Cancer, Wellness & Research Centre (ONJ Centre) at Austin Health. The ONJ Centre also includes haematology and palliative care wards, day oncology and apheresis, radiation oncology, specialist clinics, clinical trials and wellness and information centres, integrating clinical care with wellness and research for the best outcomes and patient experience.

To be successful in this role you must demonstrate/Key responsibilities will include:

  • Registered Nurse registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia

  • Flexibility in working hours.

Desirable but not essential:

  • Clinical experience in surgical nursing
  • A sound understanding of information technology including clinical systems and applications relevant to the management of rostering and risk management reporting or as required for the role and/or department. 
  • Experience and proficiency in keyboarding and computer skills
  • Post graduate qualifications, or working towards similar in a surgical or oncological discipline
