Position Summary

Austin Health is the major provider of tertiary health services, health professional education and research across 3 campuses in the northeast of Melbourne and state-wide. Austin Health is world-renowned for its research and specialist work in cancer, liver transplantation, spinal cord injuries, neurology, endocrinology, mental health and rehabilitation.

An exciting opportunity currently exists for an enthusiastic and experienced Associate Nurse Unit Manager to join Central Dialysis Unit - Nephrology Department leadership team, for one year on a fixed term basis from August 2, 2021 till August 2, 2022.

Central Dialysis Unit (CDU - 7North Dialysis) is a dynamic and busy 12 chair in centre haemodilaysis facility, co -located with ward 7North -Renal. CDU operates Mondays to Saturdays from 7am till 930pm and provides on call coverage to patients requiring out of hours urgent treatment, Sundays and Public Holidays.

The unit also provides acute and chronic Plasma Exchange treatments for Immunolgical and Neurological conditions, provides remote / bedside haemodialysis treatment to patients closely monitored in ICU, CCU, ED and other wards like 7North Renal and 8West (Hepatobiliary, Gastroenterology, Liver and Intestinal Transplant ward).

CDU patient profile is made up of patients who are transferred from Austin Dialysis satellite units, patients admitted through Emergency Department, Elective Surgery and Direct admissions / transfer from other health institutions.

CDU team consists of nursing, medical, allied health and support staffs which are team oriented and striving to achieve the best possible outcomes to our patients.
