An exciting opportunity currently exists for an enthusiastic and highly experienced Psychiatric Enrolled Nurse to join our Brain Disorders Unit (BDU).

The Brain Disorders Unit (BDU) is a specialist, State-wide, 30 bed slow stream rehabilitation unit providing services to clients between the ages of 16 - 65 living with an acquired brain injury and a mental illness. The unit is located within the scenic gardens and grounds of the Royal Talbot Hospital Campus.

We are looking for an enthusiastic Psychiatric Enrolled Nurse who has an interest in working within a specialist mental health service and a desire to provide quality nursing care within a recovery oriented and client centred context. Experience working in a mental health context is desirable but not essential.

Essential for Performance of the Position:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of recovery oriented and collaborative clinical practice
  • Knowledge of the Mental Health Act 2014 and other relevant legislation
  • Knowledge of the Mental Health Act 2014 and other relevant legislation
  • A patient focused approach to service delivery.

Desirable but not essential:

  • Understanding of the Commonwealth Aged Care Act.
  • Nursing experience in a mental health context
  • A sound understanding of information technology including clinical systems relevant to the management of rostering and risk management reporting
