An exciting opportunity currently exists for an enthusiastic and experienced Administration Officer to join our Medical Workforce Unit.

Details of Department

The Medical Workforce Unit provides overall management of the medical workforce at all levels and provides a central monitoring and resource in that regard for all clinical services.

The unit is located at the Austin Hospital campus and is responsible for a range of activities relating to the recruitment and management of senior and junior medical staff across Austin Health.

Details of position/position requirements

The Administration Officer is responsible for reception and administrative duties within the Medical Workforce Unit and is usually the first point of contact for all medical and other staff enquiries.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • To provide efficient and friendly reception to all those who come to the Medical Workforce Unit requesting assistance
  • To provide information of a general nature to those making contact with the MWU, and to escalate queries to the appropriate MWU team member if more specialised information is required
  • To cover sick leave and vacant shifts on cover rosters, and to maintain Online rosters 
  • General Administration, including data entry and maintenance, printing, photocopying, filing and distribution of documents, and
  • To support the DiT team with roster and recruitment processes.
