Position Summary

Austin Health is the major provider of tertiary health services, health professional education and research across 3 campuses in the northeast of Melbourne and state-wide. Austin Health is world-renowned for its research and specialist work in cancer, liver transplantation, spinal cord injuries, neurology, endocrinology, mental health and rehabilitation.

An exciting opportunity currently exists for an enthusiastic  Clinical Pharmacology Registrar to join our Clinical Pharmacology Department in February 2022.

Details of Department

The Department of Clinical Pharmacology provides clinical services to in-patients and out-patients of Austin Health related to pharmacological presentations and issues, including hypertension, hypotension, cardiac failure and insulin resistance/diabetes. The department also provides services to the Drug and Therapeutics Committee of Austin Health.

Details of position/position requirements

The Registrar will work with the other members of the department including the Clinical Pharmacologist. The registrar will attend the blood pressure and hypertension clinics, the Drug and Therapeutics Committee, the Medication Safety Committee, and the Adverse Drug Reaction Committee.  The registrar will provide services to inpatients, and will attend to other duties as directed by the Clinical Director.

To be successful in this role you must:

  • Attend to patient referrals in a timely manner
  • Attend relevant clinics as required
  • Attend the hospital in and outside of rostered hours to provide services as required
  • Participate in relevant unit quality programs
