Position Summary

Austin Health Mental Health Division (MHD) provides care and services through a comprehensive range of teams to meet the needs of mental health consumers and carers throughout Victoria. Services in the MHD are located across Austin Health and the community.

All mental health services work within a clinical framework that promotes recovery-oriented practice and supported decision making. This approach to client wellbeing builds on the strengths of the individual working in partnership with their treating team. It encompasses the principles of self-determination and individualised treatment and care.

An exciting opportunity currently exists for an enthusiastic and experienced Mental Health Clinician to join our community team at the Austin Child and Youth Mental Health Service (CYMHS)


Austin CYMHS INECOT (InnerNortheast Community Outpatient Team) is one of several outpatient teams for children and young people. It is a multidisciplinary team that offers a clinical service and case management to young people, aged between 0-18 years, experiencing a variety of complex and severe mental illnesses and disorders within the team's catchment areas. The team is located at the Heidelberg campus and operates within normal business hours.

INECOT is a vibrant and experienced multidisciplinary team committed, caring and creative in our work together to improve the mental health and potential of the children and young people we support. We value sharing our knowledge experience and ideas to provide a great and supportive team environment for all.

Our work encompasses clinical assessment, risk formulation, a variety of therapeutic interventions and support of children, young people and their families and carers.  We also liaise closely with staff in a range of other sectors, such as schools, Child Protection, family and community systems. 

Applicants experienced in working with children and adolescents with eating disorders and have family therapy training are strongly encouraged to apply as well as those who are passionate about the developmental and mental health needs of children, young people and their families/carers.
