An exciting opportunity currently exists for an enthusiastic Adminsitration officer to join our Psycholocial Trauma Recovery Service.

The Psychological Trauma Recovery Service (PTRS) is Austin Health’s specialist mental health service for the treatment of Trauma Related Mental Health Disorders (TRMHDs). The Service is housed in the Coral-Balmoral Building at the Heidelberg Repatriation Hospital of Austin Health, Australia’s largest public hospital. The PTRS provides comprehensive and clinically-targeted treatments, underpinned by the best available evidence in treating Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and other TRMHDs. PTRS provides a comprehensive range of programs according to the needs of each individual and the affects of trauma. Treatment is provided on an individual basis and, where clinically appropriate, within a Group Treatment Program setting. PTV provides treatment to individuals whose mental health conditions are of a compensable nature, with a specific focus on high-risk groups, such as emergency services personnel.

 The Administrative Officer will be responsible for the delivery of consumer focused administrative support, to both PTRS Intake and the Assessment and Treatment Planning Team. The position will assist in providing efficient and effective clerical support so as to achieve desired outcomes. While the position will be largely based in the PTRS Administration Area, the incumbent will be required to provide regular coverage to PTRS Outpatients Reception.  A customer focused approach and commitment to a philosophy of team support is required.

Essential Criteria:

  • Demonstrated computer literacy, with proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Demonstrated capability to work independently with initiative under minimum supervision.
  • Extensive experience in the provision of secretarial, administrative support and reception services.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to communicate with people from a broad range of backgrounds. 
  • Demonstrated teamwork skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet strict deadlines.
  • Commitment to ongoing skill development, teamwork, and professional development.
  • Willingness to learn, initiative, and ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
