Position Summary

Want to feel like you're giving back to pre-clinical research? You'll be responsible for providing a community perspective on pre-clinical research as an independent veterinarian (category A member) on the Austin Health's Animal Ethics Committee (AEC). You'll be external to Austin Health and any of its affiliated Medical Research Institutes, have been or currently working as a registered veterinarian and be able to being an independent view to the AEC.

All appointments are made subject to a satisfactory National Police Check conducted by Austin Health and if required, a Working With Children Check.

Selection Criteria Essential: Have qualifications in veterinary science that are recognised for registration as a veterinary surgeon in Australia
Essential: Experience relevant to the institution’s activities (e.g. handing and sampling techniques, welfare check, surgery for small animals.
Essential: Can interpret legislation and policy. Please note that training will be provided on your responsibilities under current Victorian legislation.
