Position Summary

Austin Pathology is the major provider of services, health professional education and research across 3 campuses of Austin Health in the northeast of Melbourne, Kyneton Health and referral testing and supervision of the Cat B laboratories of Goulburn Valley Health. Austin Health is world-renowned for its research and specialist work in cancer, liver transplantation, spinal cord injuries, neurology, endocrinology, mental health and rehabilitation.

An exciting opportunity has become available for an enthusiastic and experienced Quality Manager to be responsible for the on-going implementation and maintenance of the Pathology Quality Systems to meet the requirements of ISO15189 and NPAAC standards to maintain Laboratory Accreditation. This includes other quality requirements within Austin Health such as the National Safety and Quality in Health Service Standards.

Austin Pathology is an early adopter of innovative technology across all areas of service provision including robotic automation in Microbiology, voice recognition reporting in Anatomical Pathology and digital morphology in Haematology. Pilot planning is underway for digital imaging in Anatomical Pathology to facilitate multi-disciplinary meetings both on-site and remotely.

To be successful in this role you must demonstrate an in depth knowledge of quality and regulatory requirements to maintain accreditation with a focus on risk management with the Austin Health and NATA framework.
