Position Summary

Austin Health is world-renowned for its research and specialist work in cancer, liver transplantation, spinal cord injuries, neurology, endocrinology, mental health and rehabilitation.

An exciting opportunity currently exists for an enthusiastic and experienced Mental Health Clinician to join our Child Inpatient Unit, part of the Child and Youth Mental Health Service (CYMHS).

The Child Inpatient Unit has an experienced, multidisciplinary team. Applications are strongly encouraged from allied health with a paediatric or mental health background who are passionate about the developmental and mental health needs of children aged under 13 years, their siblings, carers/parents and their service systems. 

The role encompasses clinical assessment, risk formulation, therapeutic interventions and support of children, siblings and their families / carers, in particular family work and case management of a small caseload. The team works closely with staff in a range of other sectors, such as schools, Child Protection, family services and community systems.
