Position Summary

Austin Health is the major provider of tertiary health services, health professional education and research across 3 campuses in the northeast of Melbourne and state-wide. Austin Health is world-renowned for its research and specialist work in cancer, liver transplantation, spinal cord injuries, neurology, endocrinology, mental health and rehabilitation.

An exciting opportunity currently exists for an enthusiastic, recent graduate, to apply for the Medical Imaging Technologist Intern position.

 

The Intern/ Professional Development year is a period of supervised clinical practice which allows graduates to meet the requirements for registration to the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).  The intern will be exposed to a wide range of experience and imaging modalities as currently required by the regulating authority.

 

Interns will practice, either independently or under supervision, within their level of competence as determined through discussion with senior staff.  It is expected that Interns will perform the duties of this position efficiently to the standards of the department, including participating in the Austin Health performance appraisal program.

 

Appointees will be required to be patient focused in the efficient delivery of timely, high quality radiographic examinations through the twenty-four hour seven day week operating period.

 

Victorian Government Radiation Safety Regulations specify that Interns are not permitted to work without a Registered MIT being available on site.
