Position Summary

Austin Health is the major provider of tertiary health services, health professional education and research across 3 campuses in the northeast of Melbourne and state-wide. Austin Health is world-renowned for its research and specialist work in cancer, liver transplantation, spinal cord injuries, neurology, endocrinology, mental health and rehabilitation.

About the role

The Royal Commission into Victoria’s Mental Health System has recommended reforms to create a mental health and wellbeing system that is contemporary and adaptable to meet the diverse needs of Victorians living with mental illness or psychological distress.

An exciting opportunity currently exists for an enthusiastic and experienced Project Manager to join Austin Health to deliver significant service reform and innovation aligned with Royal Commission recommendations. This unique, fulltime, fixed term role is for two years.

The Project Manager will work closely with and report to the Project Director, Mental Health Royal Commission Reform to develop and deliver this Transformation Program. Together they will work collaboratively with the Mental Health Division, Lived Experience Workforce, consumers, carers and other key stakeholders to ensure the needs of the community are met through an integrated and responsive mental health service.

About you

  • Relevant qualification and experience in health in the public and/or private sectors
  • Demonstrated experience managing large, complex projects in a health  care or related sector, whilst maintaining continuous services
  • Proven track record in leading and motivating teams to successfully deliver project outcomes and innovative service change
  • Demonstrated experience working collaboratively with consumers, carers, families and community to improve services through meaningful engagement and representation of experience and views
  • Proven track record in stakeholder management, including an ability to build relationships and strategic partnerships, and communicate effectively at all levels
  • Have a passion for making a difference, maintaining the focus on positive outcomes and experience for our consumers, carers, staff and community
