Position Summary

Austin Health is the major provider of tertiary health services, health professional education and research across 3 campuses in the northeast of Melbourne and state-wide. Austin Health is world-renowned for its research and specialist work in cancer, liver transplantation, spinal cord injuries, neurology, endocrinology, mental health and rehabilitation. 

 

We currently have an exciting opportunity for experienced Patient Services Assistant (PSA) - Grade 2 to join our ward - 6 South. This position is a permanent position being offered Monday, Thursday, Sunday and every second week of Friday and Saturday. 

 

6 South is a 32 bed acute oncology & urology ward based within the Olivia Newton-John Cancer Wellness and Research Centre. 6 South manages all oncology tumor streams. The ONJ Centre also includes haematology and palliative care wards, day oncology, radiation oncology, specialist clinics, clinical trials and wellness and information centres, combining care with wellness and research for the best outcomes and patient experience.

To be successful in this role you must demonstrate/Key responsibilities will include: 

 

Essential for Performance in the Position  

  • PSA Certificate – Certificate III in Health (Patient Services) 
  • Willing to work in a hospital environment with sick people 
  • Flexible attitude 
  • Willingness to carry out all PSA duties and tasks and work in a team 
  • Ability to use initiative and to prioritise tasks and problem solve 
  • Physically capable of undertaking the full range of PSA duties 
  • Basic verbal and written English skills
