An exciting opportunity currently exists for an enthusiastic and highly experienced Clerical Manager to join our busy Emergency Department.

This position is responsible for the management of the Emergency Department (ED) Clerical team and is ultimately accountable for the delivery of all clerical functions within the ED. This includes day-to-day service delivery, people management, financial accountability (i.e. budget management and billing functions), quality assurance and improvement requirements, and data reporting.

To be successful in this role you must demonstrate:

  • Previous management experience (minimum of 3 years)
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver exceptional customer services
  • Knowledge of legal requirements pertaining to patient records management
  • Ability to effectively manage a budget
  • Demonstrated leadership ability
  • Demonstrated commitment to quality, best practice and safety
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal form
  • Ability to problem solve in a variety of complex situations
  • Ability to build a dynamic team which works effectively within a multidisciplinary environment
  • Ability to implement, lead and support change
  • Ability to initiate and manage improvement projects
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills (i.e. Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
  • Sound understanding of information technology including clinical systems, applications relevant to the management of rostering and risk management reporting or as required for the role and/or department.
