Position Summary

The Northern Centre Against Sexual Assault is currently recruiting a permanent .6 MALE COUNSELLOR. The focus of this position is to  provide sexual assault support services to clients of Northern CASA, in particular to provide counselling, advocacy and groups to support male adolescents and adult men who prefer to see a male counsellor. The role also entails prevention activities to raise awareness of the extent and impacts of sexual assault on male survivors. 

Northern CASA is the regional sexual assault support service for the Northern Metropolitan region of Melbourne and is located on the Heidelberg Repatriation Hospital Campus of Austin Health. The service provides therapeutic services to adults and young people over the age of 12 years, who have experienced sexual assault in the past or recently, and to their non-offending family members and friends. NCASA provides a range of services including 24-hour crisis care for victims of a recent sexual assault (18 years and over), counselling, group work, advocacy, secondary consultation and training for other professionals, and community education.

To be successful in this role you must have at least three years clinical experience including working with male clients
