Austin Health is the major provider of tertiary health services, health professional education and research across 3 campuses in the northeast of Melbourne and state-wide. Austin Health is world-renowned for its research and specialist work in cancer, liver transplantation, spinal cord injuries, neurology, endocrinology, mental health and rehabilitation.

An exciting opportunity currently exists for an enthusiastic and highly experienced Service Improvement & Development Manager to join our Mental Health Division.  The Mental Health Division provides care and services through a comprehensive range of teams to meet the needs of mental health consumers and carers throughout Victoria.  Services are located across Austin Health campuses and in the community.

The Service Improvement & Development Manager Mental Health will provide expert program/project management and is responsible for the co-ordination and monitoring of operational and strategic directions within Austin Health’s Mental Health Division.  The role will be required to work collaboratively with the Mental Health Executive to identify key areas for improvement and opportunities for growth and reform. It will work closely and collaborate with the hospital Service Improvement Enterprise team to ensure consistency and standardisation.

This is an amazing opportunity for someone with substantial and relevant clinical experience in mental health and high quality leadership ability with previous clinical management and/or project management experience.   We are looking for someone with great people skills and a reputation for delivering high quality initiatives.

Selection Criteria Essential: Relevant professional qualification in a health related discipline (psychology, nursing, social work, occupational therapy or speech pathology)
Essential: Substantial and relevant clinical experience in mental health, with a minimum 7 years of post-graduate experience in mental health
Essential: Knowledge of the Mental Health Act 2014 and other relevant legislation
