An exciting opportunity currently exists for an enthusiastic Spine Fellow to join our Neurosurgery & Orthopaedic Units
Details of Department
The Neurosurgery & Orthopaedic Units are located at the Austin Hospital. Both Units are committed to provision of high quality care and maintain ongoing commitment to under graduate and post graduate teaching. Both Units also provide a consultative service for other Units within Austin Health.
Details of position/position requirements
The Aim of the Fellowsip is to expose to Fellow to the full range of spinal pathology. At the conclusion of 12 months, it is expected that the Fellow will achieve a high degree of confidence in all aspects of spinal surgery, including fixation for trauma, degenerative disease & scoliosis.
To be successful in this role you must demonstrate/Key responsibilities will include:
Registered Medical Practitioner in the state of Victoria
Have appropriate training & experience applicable to the field of Neurosurgery or Orthopaedic surgery
Commitment to high quality patient care
Capability and an interest in research
Commitment to teaching
Ability to communicate at all levels
Surgical competency
Teamwork and collaboration
Suture skills
Understanding of clinical governance
