An exciting opportunity currently exists for an enthusiastic and highly experienced Registered Nurse to join The Surgery and Endoscopy Centre on 9 West

Details of position/position requirements

  • To ensure high quality nursing care is provided to all patients and clients ensuring standards meet professional, organization, legal and ethical requirements.
  • Perform the duties of this position efficiently to the standards of the department, including participating in the Austin Health performance appraisal program.

To be successful in this role you must demonstrate/Key responsibilities will include:

  • To support the provision of quality patient care throughout the ward through the promotion of values and principles, which underpin best practice; nursing and departmental standards are current, known and accessible and meet organisational, professional, ethical and legal requirements. 
  • To ensure that patient care standards meet professional, organisational, legal and ethical requirements.
  • To evaluate the effectiveness of own performance – self-development is actively maintained and performance is appraised.
  • To support a philosophy of care, which is, patient focused, where care is integrated from pre-admission to post-discharge and where the family is welcome in the carer’s team.
  • Ensure the well-being and safety of patients by following the values and principles, which underpin best practice in relation to patient, care, education and patient rights.
  • Achieve and maintain the skills necessary to plan, prioritise and implement holistic patient care.
