Position Summary

Austin Health is the major provider of tertiary health services, health professional education and research across 3 campuses in the northeast of Melbourne and state-wide. Austin Health is world-renowned for its research and specialist work in cancer, liver transplantation, spinal cord injuries, neurology, endocrinology, mental health and rehabilitation.

An exciting opportunity currently exists for a number of enthusiastic HMO's and Unaccredited General Medicine Registrars/Advanced Trainees in General Medicine to join our Medical Workforce from July and August 2021.

Details of Department

Austin Health is one of Victoria's largest health care providers, comprising the Austin Hospital, Heidelberg Repatriation Hospital and Royal Talbot Rehabilitation as well as community based health services. The Medical Workforce Unit provides Doctors in Training (DiT) to the health service to ensure wards and services are staffed appropriately, Under the guidance of Consultant Medical Staff, our DiT's provide care to patients across most medical disciplines, including General and Specialty Medicine, General Surgery, Emergency Medicine, Psychiatry, Rehabilitation and Aged Care Medicine, Opportunities are available in most areas, and we also have opportunities for rotations to health services in rural and country Victoria.

Details of position/position requirements

These roles are available to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to ensure patient care is delivered in a safety focused, team-oriented and stimulating work environment. You are required to work collaboratively with the patients, their families and care givers, and the wider team to ensure patient goals are achieved.
