Position Summary

Allied Health Assistant - Radiology roles 

  • Part-time, ongoing position

  • $54.0k - $64.3k per annum base range + salary packaging + super (pro-rata for part time)

About the Radiology Department 

The Austin Health Radiology Department offers a comprehensive range of diagnostic and interventional services and operates at both the Austin and Repatriation Hospitals, as well as providing a satellite imaging service to Royal Talbot Rehabilitation Centre.

The nature of the work requires extended hours provision of service, and all staff are expected to contribute appropriately to cover the extended hours. 

The Austin Hospital provides an extensive range of services to inpatient, ED and some Outpatient clinics. The range of services includes General X-ray, Fluoroscopy, Ultrasound, MRI, CT, Mobile and Theatre, Angiography, Cath Lab and Interventional procedures.

All Austin campus imaging for ED patient, inpatient and outpatient X-ray, mobiles, theatre and CT is co-ordinated from Emergency Radiology 24/7.

The Heidelberg Repatriation Hospital provides radiology services to all remaining Outpatient clinics as well as externally referred patients and some inpatients. The range of services includes General X-ray, Ultrasound, CT, Fluoroscopy, Mobiles and Theatre. 

The department also provides education and training for Medical Imaging Technologists and other staff, and also conducts and contributes to research activities.  

About the role 

An exciting opportunity currently exists for qualified Allied Health Assistants or Medical Imaging students to join our Radiology Department and work alongside Health Professionals to help support growth, efficiency and patient experience within our department and services. Applications welcomed from part-time candidates for up to 32 hours per week. Classification as per award and dependent on experience and qualification level.?  

A regular day will see you: 

  • Working in a dynamic 24/7 hospital environment alongside exceptional team members 
  • Undertaking clinical and non-clinical duties that support routine and specialised medical imaging procedures and work areas  
  • Play a pivotal role assisting with patient flow, clinical support, equipment care and utilisation, and maintenance of infection control standards  
  • Working with nursing, medical and allied health staff to support patient experience and access

Selection Criteria Essential: Meets currently mandated COVID vaccination status or exemption requirements for Victorian public sector healthcare workers.
Essential: Currently holds certificate III or IV in Health Service Assistance or Allied Health Assistance
