Position Summary

Austin Health is the major provider of tertiary health services, health professional education and research across 3 campuses in the northeast of Melbourne and state-wide. Austin Health is world-renowned for its research and specialist work in cancer, liver transplantation, spinal cord injuries, neurology, endocrinology, mental health and rehabilitation.

An exciting opportunity currently exists for an enthusiastic Surgical Spine Fellow to join our Neurosurgery & Orthopaedic Units in 2019.

Details of Department

The Neurosurgery & Orthopaedic Units are located at the Austin Hospital. Both Units are committed to provision of high quality care and maintain ongoing commitment to under graduate and post graduate teaching. Both Units also provide a consultative service for other Units within the Austin Hospital.

Details of position/position requirements

The aim of the Fellowship is to expose the Fellow to the full range of spinal pathology. At the conclusion of 12 months, it is expected that the Fellow will achieve a high degree of confidence in all aspects of spinal surgery, including fixation for trauma, degenerative disease, and scoliosis.

To be successful in this role you must:

Registered Medical Practitioner in Victoria.

Have appropriate training & experience applicable to the field of Neurosurgery and Orthopaedic surgery.

Demonstrated surgical competency
