Position Summary

Fixed term, Senior Clinical Psychologist,  12 hours per week

Austin Health is the major provider of tertiary health services, health professional education and research across three campuses in the northeast of Melbourne and state-wide. Austin Health is world-renowned for its research and specialist work in cancer, liver transplantation, spinal cord injuries, neurology, endocrinology, mental health and rehabilitation.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Psychologist with child and/or adolescent experience to work in Austin’s pediatric inpatient service. This includes provision of psychological assessment, therapeutic intervention and psychoeducation to patients and carers, with an emphasis on eating disorders. Providing information and support groups for parents of inpatients with eating disorder, liaising with CL Psychiatry and planning interventions is also required. This is a fixed term 6 month, 12 hour per week position.

To be successful in this role, key selection criteria include:

  • Current registration with the AHPRA Psychology Board of Australia, endorsement as a Clinical Psychologist and supervisor.
  • A minimum 5 years of relevant experience, including working with child and/or adolescent services and eating disorders.
  • High level interpersonal skills that promote team development and engagement.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills.
